I’m not going to write about the obvious topic for the day. That V Day one…and no, I’m not talking about Victory over Japan day either.
Today, we’re going to discuss art.
Art is all around us.
We see it in the flowers blooming, the children laughing, the artist painting, the chef cooking, the horses running, the dogs barking, and the birds flying. We see that art is beautiful and breathtaking.
But do you see the art in your everyday life?
The beauty of your morning cup of joe. The art of maneuvering your vehicle through the traffic. The comedy at the office. The dance you do when you pick your kids up and swing them into your arms. The song you hear buzzing in your head when your spouse walks in the door. The soft, fuzzy colors of bedtime.
Art does not have to be a huge, dramatic event. It can be as simple as the kiss of a loved one or the kindness of a stranger. Art is truly a beautiful thing.
Open your eyes and see that there is beauty around you. This may be hard for some of you, but I never promised it was going to be easy. Think about art in your everyday life. The chorus of children laughing and playing in a nearby park. The beauty you feel when you speak to or see someone you love. Those things are art. It might not fit the conventional definition of art, but I promise you it is.
